Mostly Retired (2001-today)
Stan Lee Media:
In 2001, Stan Lee retired from Marvel. His last position was the head of Stan Lee Media, until the company failed due to corruption. Brothers Stephen and Jonathon Gordon were tried and convicted with bank fraud and wire fraud. After Stan Lee Media fell, Lee officially stepped down from Marvel Comics. However, he continues to work on the Marvel Cinematic Universe by appearing in cameos in most Marvel films and editing the final product of the movie. His cameos often add a light, humorous element to the film during the scenes.

Today & POW! Entertainment
Stan Lee also created a company called POW! Entertainment.
"POW! Entertainment, Inc. creates, develops, and licenses intellectual properties for traditional entertainment media, including: feature length films in live action and animation, television programming, merchandising and related ancillary markets. With high demand for content in media such as mobile applications, on-line, and video games, POW! has also expanded its focus to develop new material in these areas."
Now, Stan Lee does interviews, appearances, and signings. One of his main appearances is at the San Diego International Comic Con. He attends the Comic Con every year and signs comic books and other merchandise. He attends a few other comic cons around the country, but doesn't often leave California. He currently lives in Burbank, CA, with a net worth of fifty million dollars.
